Popped it in before my daughter came down for breakfast, turned around, and she dropped an entire bowl of cereal. The scream woke the dog. She is nine and has informed me she will remember this forever. Dad of the year, no notes.
step one — load the tongue
It slips over your real tongue in about two seconds — no glue, no straps, no forty-step tutorial. You close your mouth, open it again, and now there is a fat, glistening, absolutely-too-long tongue flopping out of your face like it has always lived there.
It looks real. Disgustingly real. The kind of real where the person across the table stops chewing. That is the moment you know it is working. Do not laugh yet. Laughing is for later.
step two — the yank
Here is the trick that has ended friendships and made grandmothers levitate: you dare them to pull it off. And because it looks like an actual, attached, load-bearing human tongue, some brave soul always grabs it and yanks.
The scream comes first. Every time. A pure, primal, "I just detached a person's tongue" scream. There is a full second where they genuinely believe they have committed a crime. That second is the entire product. That second is worth $12.99.
step three — the reveal
The tongue slides right off — no harm, no gore, no trip to the ER — and reveals your completely normal, still-attached, extremely smug real tongue underneath. The horror flips to disbelief flips to that wheezing, can't-breathe, hand-on-the-table laughter within about three seconds.
Then you hand it over so they can go do it to someone else. It is soft, squishy and reusable, and it pops back into shape for round two, round three, and the entire Halloween season. Buy one to ruin a dinner, or grab two and traumatize the whole family at $10.00 a tongue.

Bought it for my 11-year-old and immediately regretted it, because the first thing he did was dare his mate to pull it. His mate PULLED it. The noise that came out of that child. Both of them were on the floor for ten minutes. Worth every penny.

It genuinely looks like a real tongue, which is the whole problem and the whole point. Got my flatmate so good she refused to touch it afterwards. Only docking half a star because now I can't unsee my own tongue being that long.

Brought it to lunch, kept a completely straight face, then slowly let it flop out mid-conversation. The whole table lost it. One kid genuinely thought I'd had tongue surgery. This thing is undefeated in a group.

I am 34 and I got my own grandmother with this. She gasped, grabbed her chest, and told me I'd done something to my mouth. Then she laughed so hard she had to sit down. She has now requested one for church. I've ordered it.

Wore it with my Halloween costume and didn't have to do anything else — just stood there letting it hang out. Three separate people screamed at the door. One neighbour actually left. Best money-per-scream I've ever spent.

Deadpanned it in a Monday standup with the tongue just... out. My manager stopped mid-sentence. A coworker snorted coffee across her keyboard. Half a star off only because I nearly got in trouble, which was entirely my own fault.

My little brother pulled it clean off my face and screamed like he'd unplugged me. Then he demanded to do it to Dad. Then the neighbour. This one fake tongue has now traumatised four people and it still looks brand new.

Waited until the whole family was at the dinner table, leaned in to pass the potatoes, and just let it drop out. My youngest jerked back so hard he slid off his chair (he's fine, he's laughing in the video). Christmas is going to be dangerous.

Me and my teenage son took turns pranking each other in the mirror until we were both crying laughing. Reusable is the real selling point — it's been pulled about forty times and still snaps right back. Gets handed round the whole house now.
